The project “Innovations in the dairy and meat supply chains for health, welfare and the environment”, with the acronym “One Health – One Welfare – One World”, aimed to develop innovative dairy and meat products through the adoption of product and process innovations, using a supply chain approach that starts from animal feeding and extends to human health, with a holistic “one health – one welfare – one world” vision.
The project activities were organised into 6 implementation objectives:
OR1: Enhancement of agricultural biomass for the implementation of sustainable feed sources for livestock;
OR2: Development of feeding regimes designed for animal and environmental welfare, based on the use of green fodder, medicinal plants and innovative plant-based supplements.
OR3: Production of meat preparations, meat products and dairy products with high nutritional value and high safety and stability characteristics.
OR4: Low environmental impact active packaging.
OR5: Assessment of the health effects of the new food products.
OR6: Development of an assessment protocol for sustainable products/processes.
Capurso Azienda Casearia S.r.l. was involved in the activities of OR3, for the production of dairy products, and OR6, for the development of an assessment protocol for sustainable products and processes.
